Glad I'm not a Sooners Fan

I know that I recently said the same thing about the Cyclones, and that still applies, but now OU's best defensive player gets arrested? What kind of ship is Stoops running down there? Not that it was his fault that a Heisman-worthy player doesn't know how to land a dive without breaking a bone, but the other two of OU's three best players had incidents off the field. It appears that the apocalypse is near for the Sooners once again. Graham, be sure to let the fans down there know how sorry we feel about their recent woes. Since we're talking about the Sooners, it's probably not a bad idea to borrow something of theirs for this week. Go Big Red!

It's Texas week and here come the Longhorns. Colt "the real" McCoy is getting his first taste of a true road game in a hostile environment. And no Colt, the Cotton Bowl doesn't count, half the stadium was in burnt orange. Neither does that game against Rice in Houston. Welcome to Memorial Stadium my friend.

Knee-jerk prediction (subject to change before Saturday):

NU 27
UT 24

That's right, I'm picking Nebraska despite being a dog by 6.5 points. If you don't like it, blow yourself.

My prediction:

Huskers jump out to a 14 point lead at half. Callahan decides to sit on the lead by running it up the gut for a string of 3-and-out's. Disaster strikes and Texas scores two quick touchdowns. The Huskers cannot transition back into try-to-score-a-touchdown mode and are forced to punt on the next two possessions. Colt gets used to the crowd noise and Texas scores with a minute left. Game over, Texas by 7.

D's comment made me throw up in my mouth. Probably because it's going to happen just like he said.

Please Callahan, don't be Denny Green. Watching the Cards blow that game last night against Chicago was physically painful. When they were trying to run the ball in the 2nd half, sitting on their lead, I think Edge averaged about -2 yards per carry. It was freakin rediculous.

Texas just has too much defense for us. It will be close at half, we might even have the lead, but then they will wear us down. Our running game just isnt going to be effective enough to keep our super thin defense off the feild. UT scores a few late points to win. damn. maybe next year.
