Steve Pederson gone . . . The man who refused to let the program gravitate toward mediocrity did simply that . . . in fact gravitate shouldn't be the word perhaps rocket towards mediocrity or screamming to mediocrity would fit better. The Huskers impacted mediocrity like shoemaker levy 9 impacted an Earth size hole in Jupiter's atmosphere last decade, meaning we hit it hard . . . So in turn the man who assured us he was doing the right thing by firing Solich became a fraud and away he goes. In comes the most boring inspirational speaker of our generation, Tom Osborne, and we instantly have hope.
Nebraska's future within 24 hours made a complete 180, the run up the gut, beat you with Nebraska kids, and clap as you lose at our house Coach is back. This man may not be flashy or entertaining, but there is one thing he is great at and that's bringing a winning/tough attitude wherever he goes. You never once saw a kid quit on Osborne, even when we were getting pasted by the likes of Miami or Florida State. People innately believe in this man because whatever comes out of his mouth he does, without fail. He doesn't lie, he doesn't cuss, and by god he doesn't give up on any one . . . just like his teams. This fella will have a geat impact on our program and return the program to AT LEAST respectability . . . and if you are worried about Callahan and co. staying because Osborne is to nice, don't. These coaches are done, and you can see it in Callahan's demeanor as well as Osborne's. Osborne refers to 'those coaches' and calls Callahan truly a decent man . . . is that even a compliment? And why say it even if he were a decent man? How about a good coach compliment? Yeah I haven't heard that yet.
It's just a matter of time and these Coaches are shown the door. Thanks for the Alamo Bowl . . . because really that's about it. And if you are worried about our current recruits, forget all of that. The recruits will be there, the Nebraska program does it's recruiting for them. Let's just hope our new coach, Bo or Turner will be able to maximize our players potential, something that our current coaches have failed to do.
And in the words of that bitchy red haired game show host, steve you are the weakest link . . . goodbye.
