Larry "I'm almost dead" Coker finally fired

Well, they finally put that old dog out to pasture, and for me, it was about time.

Sounds like the hot replacement candidate is Greg Schiano, and it probably makes the most sense for Miami. He used to be an assistant there, and he's one of the hottest head coaching prospects right now. Miami probably couldn't hope to do any better than Schiano.

Did anyone hear Kirk Herbstreit just lay into Miami's facilities last night during the Miami-BC game? I am not sure if I'm more surprised by him really bashing them or the fact that Miami has bad facilities. I thought they were one of the more successful programs over the last 5 years and maybe over the last 25. He basically said "can someone at least buy some paint???". Wow.

What I'm Thankful For

Once again it's that time of year again (I swear it's getting here quicker and quicker every year) when we play the scum of North America better known as the Rich Preppie kids from the town that inspired the Jon-Benet Ramsey horror. What a picturesque setting if you ask me. Purple mountain majesties, and gang rapes in the valleys, my oh my what a place.

Back to the point at hand, It's going to be senior day on Friday for what is arguaby the worst class for Nebraska in the past 40 years. Some of these kids experienced the 7-7 season, J. Lo's fuckups, The DC shuffle, Pelini Chants, a losing record after having lost at home to Colorado ughh, and who can forget Vanilla Thunder . . . There has been so much in the last few years, the ups and the downs have nearly given me an early ulcer, Thanks Terrance Nunn, and le kevin smith. And I'm sure most people would soon forget the past 4 or 5 years and dismiss it as the dark years of Nebraska football. I for one am thankful for the past 5 years, and let me tell you why. With Nebraska on and over the cusp of being in the Big 12 Title game, I'm no longer taking winning for granted. I'm so happy just to get to watch Nebraska play one more game. And these past 2 years will be easily some of my favorite teams to have watched. Yes they have major flaws, namely cosgrove, but these kids just haven't given up and play hard week in week out. I can't remember having so much suspense week in week out for the past 2 years that when and if we become dominant again I will miss these cardiac games where the outcome hinges on nearly every play. Thanks for the memories. Having said this I still want a blowout against Colorado. Srew You Dan Hawkins.

Update: Jim Rose now slightly more tolerable than your average VD

I've fought it for long enough, and I don't think I can anymore. Yes, Jim Rose has finally worn me down.

I am losing the intensity to complain about this Dorothy Lynch pimp. I don't even sigh anymore when he describes team colors and jerseys in the middle of a play. His out-of-scale descriptions and exclamations no longer seem like exaggerations.

What is it? Maybe it's the fact that he isn't going anywhere. Maybe its the realization that if is replaced, it would be by none other than Pavelka.

I do know one thing, he hasn't gotten any better over the years. I wish we had an exciting pbp announcer. One that didn't talk for 80% of the broadcast. One that could just give the yardage marker where the play ends before the next play starts. I don't think I'm asking for a lot. I want down and distance, formation, play and yardage. I don't need him to paint a picture of the teams jerseys or commentary on how great the opponent's stadium is.

I don't think there's another BCS school that would put up with this guy. Why do we?

We're Back Baby . . . and A championship awaits

That is back as in back in the drivers seat of the Big 12 north Championship. What an enormous step for this program if we can win one of 2 . . .oh boy !!!!!!!! First time this century . . . can you all honestly believe that? Last time we were in the Big 12 championship it was another century . . . geeesh, i guess we know how every crappy ass team feels like that hasn't won shit, and boy I can't stand it. And talking a little bit about the big 12 championship game, we will most decidedly be an underdog . . . and if I remember correctly we owe those good 'ole boys down in Texas an upset in the Big 12 championship(fuck you james brown). Which brings me to my prediction, yes a month in advance and perhaps premature since we haven't even clinched the trip yet, But If we play UT in KC in december for the big 12 championship . . . I say we win. This time a fluke fumble, isn't going to save those republican bastards, nor will the weather be the temperate 70 degree december weather they are used to . . . It will be cold . . . at night . . . in missouri . . . with more nebraska fans than texas fans . . . it's a recipe for a BCS Texas Busting party . . . YESSSSS!!!!!!! Hey Hey ho ho, Texas in the Cotton Bowl Hey Hey Ho Ho, Texas in the Cotton bowl . . . .
